Closing Out 2024: Reflections and Intentions from Mumbai

December 31st 2024 11:55pm

As the clock prepares to strike midnight here in Mumbai on December 31st, I find myself sitting alone in my Indian hotel room, soaking in the last moments of true silence I may have for quite some time. In just a few hours, I’ll begin the first leg of an exciting and transformative journey overseas, starting at Govardhan Eco Village for a mridanga training that will carry me through to January 26.

This moment feels bittersweet—2024 was, without a doubt, a year to remember. It was filled with lessons in love, family, business, friendships, and, most importantly, the ever-evolving relationship I have with myself. My body, my mind, my spirit—each carrying its own stories, challenges, and triumphs. I sit here reflecting on the person I am today: imperfectly perfect, fragmented yet whole, undone yet simultaneously becoming.

I’ve never been one for traditional New Year’s resolutions. They often feel rigid, fleeting, and disconnected from the organic flow of life. Instead, I choose to be intentional with my energy, planting seeds now that I will tend to as the year unfolds. For me, 2025 is about self-love, self-respect, discipline, open-mindedness, fearlessness (but with discernment), and caring for my mind, body, and spirit. These are not resolutions—they’re values, anchors, and intentions to guide me through the year ahead.

And what better way to embody self-care on this final day of 2024 than by indulging in exactly what I needed: a quiet day spent working on my blog, a nourishing massage, and some delicious room service? The cherry on top? My Bali visa was approved today—a beautiful sign that the seeds I’ve planted are already beginning to bloom.

As I prepare for the long journey ahead, I hold gratitude for all the lessons this past year has offered me. 2024 wasn’t always easy, but it was transformative. It taught me the value of showing up for myself, even when it felt hard, and of staying true to the path I’m carving with intention and care.

So, with that, I’m heading to bed, resting up for what is sure to be an unforgettable journey starting tomorrow. To all of you reading this, I wish you a beautiful and meaningful new year—may it bring you everything you’ve prayed for and more.

The seed has been planted. Now, let’s watch it grow.

Happy New Year, loves.

With love,

Eve
